Superintendent's Message
Dear Lakewood Families:
This school year, we have decided to once again use the theme Resilient Rangers. At Lakewood City Schools, our commitment to this theme is unwavering. Our school board, administration, educators, and support staff are always willing to take on a challenge and do what's best for our students. Each year, we set ambitious goals that center around student growth and achievement, effective communication, and the ongoing development of our Vision of the Lakewood Ranger. This vision is more than just a guiding principle; it’s a shared commitment to fostering an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
In addition to these core objectives, the 2024-2025 school year brings unique opportunities for us to engage as a community in important discussions about enrollment trends and building capacity. These conversations are crucial as we look to ensure that our facilities and resources are designed and equipped to meet the needs of students in the ever-changing educational landscape and amid a national decline in enrollments. To facilitate this dialogue, we will host community engagement nights at all of our elementary schools between October and January. I encourage everyone to participate in these sessions, as your insights and perspectives are invaluable to our planning process.
I am optimistic and confident that together, we will continue to build on the strengths of our district. Our success is a collective effort, and I look forward to working with each of you to create a positive and productive year for all of our students.
Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our schools. Your commitment is what makes our community strong and our schools successful!
Respectfully,
Maggie Niedzwiecki
Superintendent
