School Safety Resources

We at the Lakewood City Schools continually strive to ensure that our students and staff members are teaching and learning in as safe an environment as possible. Thanks to the community's generosity, we have newer buildings that include many upgraded safety features are old buildings did not such as electronically controlled door locks and cameras that are livestreamed directly to the Lakewood Police Department. We employ six security guards at the high school and have two full-time Lakewood Police Student Resource Officers. We hope this page gives you some reassurance that the District will always take seriously the safety of your student and our employees.

Lakewood City Schools uses the Safer Ohio School Tip Line, a free resource available to Ohio schools. The tip line is an anonymous reporting system that accepts both calls and texts 24 hours-a-day. This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety — whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
