Dear Emerson Families,
I will be available via email during this break from school. If you or your child wants to touch base feel free to email me at any time and I will email you back. If I am at Emerson I will be able to call you.
All of us will be experiencing some feelings of anxiety as our lives have been temporarily disrupted. We are all in this together and together we will come through stronger and better because of it.
Tips: Establish a routine/daily structure.
Limit exposure to news regarding the virus, (stay informed but don't continuously stream)
Stay positive and reassure your children that all the closures/restrictions are to keep us safe
Get outdoors/fresh air, exercise
Find comedic relief, movies, jokes, games, cards, songs
Keep a journal, allow for expressing your thoughts and fears
Stay mindful, practice kindness, use this time to slow down and reconnect with your family
Our children will look to us for reassurance, stay calm, enforce rules and boundaries,
refrain from talking about your fears and worries in front of your kids.
