One of the Lakewood City Schools District Initiatives is the creation of a Makerspace in each elementary building. A Makerspace is a collaborative workspace for making, learning, exploring, and sharing that uses high-tech to no-tech tools. They provide hands-on learning, help with critical thinking skills, and even boost self-confidence. The donation calendar below lists some items that will help us create this space. Please consider donating what you can each month. There will be boxes in the classrooms for collection and our students will help with sorting, organizing, and storing everything. This is an important first step as we want our students to take ownership of the room and be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe Makerspace.
