Seniors Sweep City Club Essay Contest

Lakewood High School seniors achieved an impressive clean sweep at the 2026 Hope and Stanley Adelstein Essay Contest, securing the top three spots in the 11th/12th-grade category of the competition, sponsored by the City Club of Cleveland. The contest focuses on freedom of speech. First-place winner Alessio Matera earned a $1,000 prize and has been invited to read his work aloud at The City Club forum on May 1. He is joined by fellow seniors Adrien Tullio, who took second place and a $750 prize and Mel Diemert, who placed third and received $500. Congratulations to all!
