New District Asst. Treasurer Named
The Lakewood Board of Education has approved Rachel Tansey as the District’s new assistant treasurer. Tansey, who is currently treasurer for Green Local Schools in Wayne County, brings extensive experience in school finance, accounting, and public sector operations to the role.In her new position, Tansey will work closely with Treasurer Meghan Rohde to support the District’s financial operations.
Tansey joins Lakewood City Schools with a strong background in financial management and educational finance, having served in multiple roles supporting fiscal operations, budgeting, reporting, and compliance within public institutions. Her experience includes overseeing financial processes, collaborating with administrative teams, and ensuring responsible stewardship of public resources.
Prior to working at Green Local Schools, Tansey was treasurer for Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools and executive director of federal programs and grants at Lorain City Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of Wooster.
Tansey will begin her role on April 13.
