Board Approves Rohde as Next Treasurer

The Lakewood City Schools Board of Education has approved the hiring of Meghan Rohde as the District’s next treasurer/chief financial officer. Rohde, who is currently treasurer for Bay Village City Schools, will assume her new role in January 2026, working alongside current treasurer, Kent Zeman, who will retire this spring.

Zeman, who has served Lakewood City Schools with exceptional stewardship, integrity, and deep financial expertise, leaves behind a strong legacy of fiscal stability. His leadership guided the District through numerous levy cycles, major construction projects, and clean audits.

Following a thorough search and interview process, the Board selected Rohde, who brings a decade of financial leadership experience in public education. Prior to joining Bay Village Schools, Rohde served as treasurer for Clyde-Green Springs School District in Clyde, Ohio. She currently is the Northeast Region director for the Ohio Association of School Boards and has earned an Ohio Auditor State Award for GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).

“We're excited to have Ms. Rodhe join the Lakewood team," said Nora Katzenberger, president of the Lakewood Board of Education. "Her expertise with budgeting and forecasting, as well as her experience with overseeing successful levies and advocating for public schools at the regional and state level, will do much to reinforce our district's reputation for financial health and excellence.”

Prior to working in public education, Rohde served as an internal auditor for PNC Bank. She earned an MBA from Ohio University and her bachelor’s degree from Wright State University.

““I am honored to join Lakewood City Schools as treasurer and to serve a community so deeply committed to its students,” Rohde said. “I look forward to collaborating with District leaders, staff, and families to support thoughtful financial planning and to strengthen the District’s path forward.”
