4 Buildings Earn State Reading Recognition
Congratulations to Emerson, Hayes, Lincoln and Roosevelt elementary schools on being honored by Gov. Mike DeWine in his new Governor’s Science of Reading Recognition Program, which recognizes schools who have aligned their curriculum with the Science of Reading, embraced professional development for teachers and raised literacy achievement among students. Our four schools were among 47 schools recognized by the governor.
The recognition is based on multiple factors, including established reading program structures, fully trained staff in Science of Reading and students’ improvement in English Language Arts proficiency as indicated on the annual Ohio State Tests. We are so proud of the work being done to improve our students’ literacy at all levels of the district!
