Dear Parents,

It is the final quarter for second grade.  I will allow the students to work on their homework in school some days as we near the end of the year. Please always check it in the evening. We are back to reading fiction and writing about our favorite characters etc from our books. The students completed the lab reports and they were sent home. We are completing Math Unit 6 on the Foundations of Multiplication and Division. We will start Module 7 on  Problem Solving, Money, and Data. Please remind your child to return his/her library books by Thursday every week. We have never had 100% return, which is disappointing. Our last unit in Writer's Workshop is Poetry, which is fun!  We will have a Mother's Day tea on Friday, May 11th in the afternoon. The students will bring home invitaions as it gets closer. The boys and girls are working hard and being kind towards each other. We had so much fun this week when Google came to our school. The students had selfie sticks with phones attached to them. My phone had many different Science choices. They put their phone over a QR code and got to view many different things. It was so much fun!!!  Check out the fourth quarter indicators as I updated some. We will go to the Great Lakes Scince Center on April 26th for the day. We will walk to Lakewood Public Library for the summer Reading program, lunch at the park, and Menchies at the end of the school year. I will let you know this date after I have it confirmed. We will also walk to Lakewood Park for lunch and to enjoy our beautiful waterfront on Wednesday, May 30th. Probably around 11:30. I will let you know. Parents are welcome on all trips!Thank you for your continuous support, write or email me concerns anytime.

Happy Spring! (Hopefully soon!:))
