Students entering Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year can acquire readiness skills this summer during Lakewood’s Kindergarten Readiness Summer Program. Instruction will be led by a certified Lakewood City Schools preschool teacher and a certified Lakewood City Schools speech and language pathologist. Lessons will emphasize understanding and using language concepts needed for classroom success.
Not all students entering Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year are eligible for this program. Those students who have not attended preschool, or who have not mastered Pre-Kindergarten foundational concepts and skills are the target audience for this program. Class size is limited to 30 students.

1) Students must be registered to attend Kindergarten in Lakewood City Schools.
2) Parents will be given a questionnaire regarding the child’s school experience and the screening tool, Ages, Stages Questionnaire at time of registration.
3) Parents must attend a preliminary meeting before the program begins that will include a screening to determine if students are eligible.
Registration deadline: May 24, 2019. Questionnaire and ASQ 3 form must be returned to Student Services at the Board of Education, 1470 Warren Road
Program parent meeting: June 4, 2019, 7 pm in the Horace Mann Elementary School library. You will be notified if your child is eligible for this program by May 31st.
