Lakewood City Schools Structured Literacy Certification Process
Annually all Lakewood City Schools teachers providing instruction for students in grades kindergarten through three are invited to participate in the Wilson Reading System (WRS) Level I certification program. This training will be provided by our district trainer, Christine McElwee, and will prepare teachers to effectively implement the WRS steps 1-6 for any students reading and spelling below grade level, as well as those diagnosed with a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.
