Operations & Construction staff ensures non-educational areas of the district are running smoothly so that our instructional staff can focus on teaching. The Operations Department oversees the following areas:

  • Maintenance
  • Custodial
  • Nutrition Services
  • Security
  • Field Trip Transportation
  • Construction Advisory Group
  • Purchasing

Operations facilitates inventory management of the District’s building and property assets. The department serves as the purchasing agent for the District. Labor relations, construction advisory group participation, and budgetary management are other important responsibilities.

The Maintenance and Custodial staff works to clean and repair the district’s seven elementary schools, two middle schools, high school, central office, and maintenance garage. The staff also maintains First Federal Lakewood Stadium, Lakewood High School baseball field, Harding Middle School field and Garfield Middle School field, as well as being responsible for lawn mowing and snow removal. 

Security facilitates safety and security details at all of the District’s school buildings, central office, and stadiums. Uniformed security guards provided by a contracted security firm assist at Lakewood High School and other buildings. The District presently has surveillance cameras in operation. The Director of Security works closely with the City of Lakewood Police and Fire Departments. The security hotline number is 216-227-5311.
