For anyone who had the pleasure of viewing 2018 Lakewood High graduate Micah Inak's artwork, you know that Micah is an exceptionally talented artist. As high schools across the country prepare for students to take their Advanced Placement (AP) exams this month, thousands of art teachers are viewing Michah's work in the portfolio she submitted last year for the Studio Art: Drawing exam (which, of course, received a top score of 5). Out of more than 20,000 portfolios submitted last May, Micah's was selected to be posted on the AP website as the sample for teachers to view to understand the portfolio components and requirements for this year's students' work.
Micah's AP Art teacher Amy Sedlak was a bit flabbergasted when she landed on the sample portfolio page and realized the work was all Micah's. “I was so excited to see a Lakewood High School Art student chosen to represent at a national level what a strong AP Art portfolio of work looks like," Mrs. Sedlak said. "They couldn’t have picked a better artist then Micah!"
Micah is continuing to hone her artistic skills as a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art. For a look at some of Micah's amazing work that was submitted in her portfolio last year, click here.
