On February 23, two sets of District elementary teams competed in a Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics event and both the Grant and Lincoln Elementary teams came away with many honors and awards!

Seventeen members of the Grant Math Club saw the hard work of their afterschool meetings that have been going on since early October pay off. The Grant logic lovers met up in teams at Holy Name High School in Parma for the two-hour competition. The math masters came home with two team trophies, champion ribbons, and rising star awards!  The team's advisors -- Jessie Holland, Christine Masgras, and Sean McGuan -- could not be more proud of their perseverance and dedication to mathematics!

Lincoln Elementary had two 5th grade teams compete at their event at Lakewood Catholic Academy. The eight students have been meeting weekly preparing for the tournament. Both Lincoln teams earned blue champion ribbons with their solid scores on all four components of the problem-solving tournament. Katie Bunsey is the teams’ mathletic advisor. “We are all extremely proud of our students and their problem-solving perseverance,” said Bunsey.
