Mr. Favre is a 44-year resident of Lakewood and has a degree in Justice Systems from Lorain County Community College and served in the Army National Guard. He retired from the Lakewood Police Department after more than 37 years of service as a patrol officer, patrol investigator, juvenile officer, detective, and sergeant. As a police officer, Mr. Favre received various commendations and service awards from the Police Department, Lakewood City Council, the Office of the Mayor, and the Westshore Enforcement Bureau. He has also received the Cox Cable Cleveland Area Spotlight Award. He currently is the Marine Patrol Supervisor for the Lorain Port Authority and is a criminal justice and public safety consultant.

Mr. Favre serves on the Executive Board of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #25, served as Chairman of the Lakewood Division, and has chaired and serves on county and state F.O.P. committees. He is a former trustee for the Metropolitan Crime Clinic, has also served as president of the Metro Crime Bureau of Cuyahoga County, the Ohio Association of Polygraph Examiners, the Lakewood Adult Athletic Commission, the Lakewood Youth Athletic Commission, the Lakewood High School Athletic Boosters, was a member of the Grow Lakewood Committee, and the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the American Legion, Lakewood Alive, Lakewood Kiwanis, the Ohio Identification Officers Association, and the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA). He is a member of the Westshore Critical Response Service, a certified presenter for Operation Lifesaver, and has been recognized as a Distinguished Board Member by the OSBA.

Mr. Favre is serving his sixth term as a member of the Lakewood Board of Education. Mr. Favre has served on all Board Committees and as President in 2000, 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2018. He and his wife, Gladys, have four children who attended Lakewood Schools. Both he and his wife have been members of various PTAs and served on the Lakewood High School Principal’s Advisory Committee.
