Report Cards: 2nd quarter the students were assessed on: Aerobic Fitness, Catching a Rolling Ball, Catching a Fly Ball, Underhand Throw, Overhand Throw, and Hand Dribble. We also worked on jump roping.
3rd Quarter we will work on: Aerobic Fitness, Underhand Strike, Forehand Strike and Batting.
I like to play music for the kids when they jog. I play music when I workout. Most people are motiivated when they listen to music while exercising, so I have been doing it now for many years. It costs me money to download the songs though. If you would ever like to donate an Itunes giftcard, it would be greatly appreciated as it gets expensive.
I am very approachable, so if you ever have a question, please just ask. With the sizes of the classes here, safety is my first priority and always will be. Bad behavior will not be tolerated. There will be a strong concentration on fitness here as well. It will be incorporated into the lessons. As I said, we will be working on Aerobic Endurance, Flexibility and Muscular Strength. We started with walking and worked our way up to jogging for several minutes as is appropriate.
Again this year, 2019-2020 school year, students in the 2nd and 5th grades will be required to participate in the Ohio Physical Education Evaluation Program. This comes to us via Senate Bill 210 and the Ohio Department of Education. This evaluation will measure student' success in meeting benchmarks contained in Ohio's five physical education standards. Results of this evaluation will be reported on the school district's report card, as well as, each individual school's report card. These assessments have begun in your child's physical education classes.
