Ohio Math League participants (from left): Halina Dreger, Ella Chanter, Cameron Levis, Terence Checkett and Jonathan Cupak.

In February, students in Mrs. Martzolf’s sixth-grade math classes at Harding took part in the annual Ohio Math League Contest. The sixth-graders with the highest scores were Jonathan Cupak, Terence Checkett, Cameron Levis, Ella Chanter and Halina Dreger.  Their team score of 116 ranked them 15th out of 75 sixth-grade teams in the state. Cameron Levis also placed 12th in the state individually.

Over one million students (grades 4-12) from the U.S. and Canada participate in Math League contests each year. The goal is to encourage student interest and confidence in mathematics through diverse problem solving.  Students in each league compete for the highest scores, while schools compete for the highest team score (the total of the top 5 scores in each school). Congratulations to all of our participants!
