Students and staff of Lakewood High raised nearly $8,000 for St. Baldrick's Foundation and pediatric cancer research. On Friday, March 8, eleven people willingly had their heads shaved for the cause, including three teachers. The top fundraiser was junior Jimmy Trudel with more than $2,000 raised. Stylists from local salons such as Crazy Mullets donated their time to be the barbers. Beyond the money raised from individual solicitations, bake sales and button sales helped the organizers boost the donation level.
