Hello and welcome to Mr. D's Health and Physical Education website.  I am Mr. Dolnosich (but Mr. D for short) and I am teaching Health and Physical Education at Lakewood High School.

I will give you brief introduction on myself and my teaching, expectations, etc.  I am a graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School (MASH) were I participated in extra-curriculars such as basketball, football and volleyball.  When I graduated, I went to Baldwin Wallace where I would major in "Health and Physical Education" and minor in "Education", "Personal Wellness" and "Health Promotion and Education."  I would also take my volleyball skills to the collegiate level.  I graduated from BW with Cum Laude as well as several leadership awards/organizations.  These include holding 3 officer positions in Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, being a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha honor society, and Kappa Delta Pi honor society (along with others).  I also served as the Treasurer and Vice President of Internal and External Affairs for the Physical Education Club.  In my time associated with the PE Club, I was able to present several topics at the State Convention and attend several Leadership Seminars.  Also at my time at BW, I worked for the Financial Aid Office and also the Athletic Offices for the college, as well as my off-campus job.

I am very passionate about my field, as sports/physical activity as always been a part of my life ever since I could walk.  I want students to experience the same benefits as I did.  As you may know, there is an obesity epidemic happening in our country.  More and more children are becoming less and less active and unhealthy.  It is my job to to give the necessary knowledge to the students so they can live a healthy lifestyle outside of school.

I might be what you call "old-school".  When I was growing up, my father raised me on several different statements and they are:

1. Respect yourself

2. Respect others

3. Respect other people's property

4. I do not tolerate laziness

5. I do not tolerate disrespect

I know that if you come into class willing to learn with an open mind and positive attitude, you will leave this class learning something new everyday.

Here are some tips on how to be successful in my class:

- Pay attention

- Be respectful

- Come to class everyday and take good notes

- Participate in class discussions

- Do homework and turn in on time
