LONG RANGE FACILITIES MASTER PLAN ALMOST COMPLETE!
In 2003, the District adopted a Long Range Facilities Master Plan that envisioned a 10-year program that would result in the rebuilding or renovation of all our schools. Thanks to the generosity of our community, successful passage of three bond issues has now led us to the precipice of completing the third and final phase of the project!
We recently completed the rebuilding of Grant, Lincoln and Roosevelt Elementary Schools, in addition to the already rebuilt Hayes and Harrison Elementary Schools and the completely renovated Emerson and Horace Mann Elementary Schools. The west wing of the high school has also been completely renovated. The new academic wing at Lakewood High opened on Jan. 3, 2017. The third and final phase of the plan will be complete when the east end of the school with a new performing arts and athletic wing are complete in Fall 2017.

What is the current status for the final phase of construction?
Our community on Nov. 5, 2013, passed a 3.75 mill bond issue and permanent improvement levy that will now allow the district to receive $50 million in matching funds from the State of Ohio for the $100 million project. As of September 2016, Grant, Lincoln and Roosevelt have been completed and are now open. At Lakewood High, the academic wing opened in January 2017, the cafeteria is set to open in April 2017, the performing arts wing in August 2017 and the gymnasium and weight room in November 2017.
