Lakewood Council of PTAs

Founded in 1952, The Lakewood Council of PTAs represents all PTA/PTSA schools serving over 1300 members within the Lakewood City Schools district.

We provide assistance and encouragement to local PTA/PTSA members, provide leadership development through workshops and programs for members and the community, promote membership, and give service to the local school community by developing coalitions with other organizations and agencies concerned with the health, welfare and education of children and youth.

Parent Involvement

At the January regular meeting of the Lakewood Council of PTAs, the board unanimously passed the Resolution to Increase Parent Involvement in the Lakewood City Schools as part of the PTA mission to be a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child, a relevant source for families, and a powerful voice for all children. Council presented the resolution to the Lakewood School Board of Education and is looking forward to furthering discussions with the board to increase collaboration between parents, school administrators, and teachers.National Standards for Family-School Partnerships

The Resolution to Increase Parent Involvementaddresses many issues regarding parent involvement. To further the discussion with school leaders, PTA would like to identify the most pressing needs of parents and to choose the areas in the resolutions that are most in need of improvement. Council has created a survey for parents who currently have students in the Lakewood City Schools. You do not need to be a PTA member to participate and participants may remain anonymous.
The survey can be taken online, Parent-School Partnership Survey, or by Downloading the survey. Email to or mail to Lakewood Council of PTAs, 1470 Warren Road, Lakewood,OH 44107.
