Early Childhood Education

Program Overview
This is a two-year program for students to experience an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work with young children. Daily hands-on involvement iwith infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten through elementary students at off-campus sites.  Students work and acquire skills with a variety of age levels from infancy to age 9.

A background check and interview are part of the selection process.

Early Childhood Education 1
Open to Grade 11

Prerequisite:  Algebra 1 (passed or currently passing), physical exam and background check.  TB Test will be administered in first two weeks of school year.
Courses: Child & Adolescent Development, Early Childhood Education Observation and Assessment

Early Childhood Education 2
Open to Grade 12

Prerequisite: Early Childhood Education 1
Courses: Curriculum and Instruction for Early Childhood Education, Classroom Management, Early Childhood Education Capstone (optional 2 additional credits)
