Business Management

Program Overview

This two-year program is designed for those students wishing to pursue a career in business. Students will study accounting, management functions, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resources, risk management, and economics. Students will receive the training necessary for passing the Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and OneNote.  These experiences help develop skills in organization, planning, delegating and supervising. Senior students meeting the requirements will be eligible for internship and early placement during the senior year.

College credit is available based upon successfully passing certification exams, as well as completing the program with the required attendance and grade point average.

Prerequisite: Computer Applications, Algebra 1 (completed or currently passing)
Courses: Business Foundations, Marketing Principles, Management Principles

Business Management 2
Open to Grade 12
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Business Management 1
Suggested: Algebra 2
Courses: Office Management, Business Management Capstone (optional two additional credits)

College Credit Option
Business Management students have the opportunity to earn college credit with several area colleges.  To be eligible, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the Business Management Program, maintain an overall GPA per admission criteria of the college (generally 2.0 or 2.5), complete Algebra 2, and complete all other rquirements deemed necessary by the particular college's admission office.
